West Coast Kings, Inc. - Owner
Drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 5th round of the 2000 MLB draft. The son of former 12 year major league Oakland A's 3rd baseman Wayne Gross, Kyle played at Cuesta Junior College in San Luis Obispo under Larry Lee (current head coach at Cal Ploy, SLO). He played 5 seasons for the Giants and was Organizational Pitcher of the Month for May of 2002. Coached by Dusty Baker, Felipe Alou, Dick Tidrow, Lee Smith and others.
Born and raised in Danville, he starred on the San Ramon Valley Little League World Series team that won the National Championship in Williamsport, PA in 1991. He attended Monte Vista High School and after moving on from professional baseball in 2006 began working with players of all ages in the Bay Area.
In 2008, he accepted the Pitching Coach at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill. DVC went to the State Championship in Kyle's first year of work, while having 5 pitcher's drafted in the top 15 rounds. DVC won two Big 8 Conference Titles and in 2011 ranked No.1 in NorCal, leading all California Community Colleges with a 2.13 ERA.
After 4 years at DVC, Kyle moved onto local College Park. Entering the 6th season at College Park, they have collected 2 NCS Championships and 3 semi finals appearances. In 2015, they earned the #1 ranking by Baseball America and USA Today for the Top High School Program in the Nation, having 7 players receive D1 scholarships.
The West Coast Kings were established in 2012 and had instant success at all levels from 14u through the College Ranks. The Kings were created to offer the most competitive venue for players to showcase their skills while developing connections with Collegiate recruiters and Pro scouts. Both academically and on the diamond, the Kings have moved countless players into top programs around the country, most recently AJ Curtis (Cal State Fullerton) and Ray Soderman (University of Oregon). As Owner and Manager of WCK, Kyle brings years of experience, Collegiate and Professional connections and leadership to the program.
Kyle resides in Concord Ca, with his wife, Holly and two girls, McKenna and Peyton.
